Designing new creating flow
for Diggle
Diggle is a SaaS platform for interactive learning. Designed to help users create and run engaging sessions such as presentations, tests, workshops, and quizzes with live feedback. Participants can join in real-time or remotely, and users can analyze and compare feedback across sessions.
This case showcases how we improved content creation by making it faster and easier to get started, introducing an AI assisted flow.

The problem
The main problem with the creating flow was that very few users were creating Diggles from scratch.
With over 4000 users, mainly on company accounts, we saw a lot of “run-only” usage. Users were presenting already shared content, such as company wide courses and presentations.
Despite having clients like Equinor, Røde Kors, and Yara, only a small portion of users were creating new content.
From behavioural data, we found that many users didn’t know what to create when starting from scratch, and the flow to start felt too overwhelming.
As a result, users usually engaged with Diggle when they were about to present already created content.
Previous creation flow

The user had to select what kind of Diggle they wanted before entering the builder.

First the user had to decide if wanting to create with AI, then they had to select what kind of Diggle they were creating and describe the topic.
Then as the second step, the user could fill out audience profile, learning goals, language and what question types desired. This was too many upfront decisions.
The solution

Based on these insights, I focused on reducing steps in the flow. The goal was to make it faster and easier for users to get started by removing unnecessary steps entering the builder.
Instead of asking users to define the target audience, goal, and Diggle type upfront, I simplified the flow to one clear call to action: “Create Diggle.”
Introducing the AI chat
We introduced an AI tab in the builder. Helping users define their goal, content, or target audience through an AI-assisted chat.
To help the users get started, examples are visible and editable. The user can also start from scratch in the “Ask anything” text box.

AI-assisted features
In addition to the AI chat, we introduced AI-assisted features in the builder, making the creating as seamless and efficient as possible.
Previous design

The builder today
We added actions like improve, generate and refine placed together with the new icons. This helped make the AI features more visible and easier for users to discover.

New icon design
New action links

To support the AI-assisted flow, I introduced reusable icons and components that ensured consistency across the builder.
New tab design
I worked closely with the developer to implement the tab animation, ensuring the timing and feel translated correctly from design to the final product.
After implementation
After implementing the new user flow and AI-assisted chat, we observed a lower barrier to getting started and increased exploration of different content and question types.
